For this edition of Fluidra Innovation Week, dreamers will be chosen from Fluidra employees all over the world.

There will be 12 dreamers, that in groups of 3, will work on 4 disruptive projects.

    • Idea: "WaveCatcher" - mini-wave energy stations based on the principle of oscillating water column (OWC), installed in swimming pools. The system uses the waves of the swimmers to turn the blades of a turbine. The special mobile application will show the user level of the accumulator. When full, it will turn on automatically or manually and can provide enough electricity for the rays and perhaps for some other equipment.

    • Idea: Low cost system for low cost pool (elevated) that uses the flow of return water to lift and remove dirt from the bottom of the pool and take advantage of the filtering system to eliminate it. Solution between a robot drive and a net'n'clean.

    • Challenge: Energy/Water
    • Idea: To provide domestic pool owners worldwide an application that is centrally managed by Fluidra, that is scalable at the right time in the right region (pool season) and that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to always have the most optimal pool values & techniques.

    • Challenge: Energy/Materials
    • Idea: 3D printers in our technical services store or in important clients, so they can solve the problem of missing small details in the moment. We can also try to transform old or broken parts into a new "ink" for the printer.

    • Idea: Develop a range of products for the safety of swimming pools, with different technologies that already exist, and others that could be used (drones).

    • Idea: Combine elements that we already have in the pool to reduce energy expenditure. Take advantage of the hot air that comes from the fan of our hydraulic pump to feed the air inlet of a heat pump. In this way we could reduce or even eliminate the fan element of the heat pump and also increase the COP of the device, which decreases the energy expenditure.

    • Idea: My dream is to heat a pool without consuming much energy. The value is an active chrome material with a pigment sensitive to UV radiation, called water-based photocatalytic paints. The problem to solve is to find a natural stimulant to regulate the different color by temperature. We can show that dark colors better absolve solar radiation. I can show that it can work, although there is a way to investigate

    • Idea: System that will provide clean and 100% clean energy to the pool system. A dynamo fan is turned by using the flow of water that comes through the pump. This will generate energy that will charge a battery. This battery, with the help of an inverter and a transformer, will provide free electricity to the lighting pool system and, if there is additional power, it will help the pump (hybrid system).
